We are proud to announce that Kyaka II Refugee-Led Organizations Network (KRLON) has been selected among 75 organizations across Africa (out of more than 4,000 applicants) to participate in the New Africa Fund AIFG 3rd Cohort Challenge.
This is a powerful continental fundraising campaign designed to unlock flexible funding for locally-led and refugee-led organizations driving sustainable change.
Our 2026 Goal: USD 117,961
This investment will directly strengthen:
- Livelihoods and Community Engagement
- Advocacy and Legal Empowerment
- Education Support
1. Livelihoods & Community Engagement (USD 80,200)
Building economic independence and social cohesion through:
- Supporting 100 single parents with agro-entrepreneurship and startup support
- Training 100 youth and young women in hands-on vocational skills (6 months program)
- Reaching 5,000 individuals through social cohesion, climate action, and sports initiatives
- Strengthening 36 Village Health Teams to support maternal and child health
Impact: Increased self-reliance, reduced vulnerability, and stronger community unity.
2. Education Support (USD 7,761)
Restoring hope and opportunity for vulnerable children and youth:
- Supporting 200 double orphans and children with special needs
- Enabling 80 youth to access English and employability-focused learning
Impact: Improved school retention, language skills, and employability pathways.
3. Advocacy & Legal Empowerment (USD 30,000)
Strengthening protection systems and inclusive leadership:
- Training 450 community leaders on refugee legal frameworks
- Onboarding 30 peace ambassadors
- Strengthening governance capacity for 50 RLO/CBO leaders
- Reinforcing legal awareness and GBV response mechanisms
Impact: Stronger protection systems, improved legal awareness, and inclusive governance.All interventions will be implemented in Kyaka II Refugee Settlement, Western Uganda, where refugee led solutions continue to transform lives from within the community.
