In a remarkable endeavor to bolster the capabilities of Refugee-led Organizations (RLOs), Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), and various groups within the Kyaka II Refugee Settlement, KRLON is thrilled to announce the triumphant completion of a training session on October 6th, 2023. Over 70 individuals gathered at the EMAP Foundation in Bukere to equip themselves with the essential knowledge and skills needed to effectively employ KRLON’s Online Reporting System. This training session marked a significant stride towards the socio-economic empowerment and overall development of the community.

The training provided attendees with comprehensive insights into the functionality of KRLON’s Online Reporting System, a critical tool for organizations operating within the settlement. Notably, to ensure the retention of knowledge, trainees were granted access to a video link for reference and continued learning post-training.

At the heart of KRLON’s mission lies the belief that reporting is a fundamental element of operational success. The systematized reporting processes have become pivotal in acknowledging and sustaining the extraordinary work undertaken by RLOs, CBOs, and groups operating in the Kyaka II Refugee Settlement.

Training Objectives

The primary objective of this training was to acquaint representatives from various Local Organizations, including RLOs, CBOs, and Groups, with the intricacies of KRLON’s Online Reporting System. The aim was to empower these entities with the skills and knowledge necessary to seamlessly submit their monthly reports. This empowerment, it was believed, would streamline reporting processes, ultimately contributing to the collective betterment of the community.

Acknowledgments and Support

The success of this training session was made possible through the unwavering support of several Local Organizations and Partner Organizations. Organizations such as KITAD, RESDA, POTENZIA VITA Organization, YUFAT, NVG, and Let’s Help International played instrumental roles in the success of this initiative. Furthermore, the support received from UNHCR/ALIGHT, providing 10 cartons of soda, and Good Neighbors, who generously supplied a projector, was paramount to the event’s success.

Participants and Organizations/Groups

The commitment of the participants and the organizations and groups they represented was truly commendable. Their active engagement underscored their dedication to the welfare of the community and highlighted their eagerness to enhance their reporting capabilities.

Reporting Matters: Recognizing Efforts in Kyaka II Refugee Settlement

Reporting is an indispensable component of KRLON’s mission in the Kyaka II Refugee Settlement. The dedicated and diligent efforts of RLOs, CBOs, and groups have significantly contributed to the betterment of the community. Reporting serves as a mechanism to recognize and appreciate their invaluable contributions.

Through the reporting process, these groups furnish documented accounts of their activities and achievements. This documentation not only spotlights their unwavering dedication but also enhances transparency, accountability, and communication within KRLON’s network of Partner Organizations. Beyond this, reporting fosters knowledge sharing, where submitted reports become a collective repository of information, shared with Partner Organizations and on the KRLON platform. This exchange of best practices not only showcases the remarkable work being accomplished but also inspires others to join these initiatives and offer support where needed.

In summary, reporting is a dynamic tool for recognition, appreciation, and collaboration. It amplifies the voices of RLOs, CBOs, and Groups and forges stronger bonds within the community, ultimately enabling them to celebrate their achievements, learn from each other, and make enduring contributions to the Kyaka II Refugee Settlement.

Recommendations for the Future

As KRLON looks ahead, there are several key recommendations and takeaways:

  1. Strengthening Partnerships: Acknowledging the invaluable support received from Local Organizations and Partner Organizations, KRLON encourages the ongoing enhancement of these partnerships. Collaborative efforts, resource-sharing, and knowledge exchange are essential for collective success.
  2. Recognition and Appreciation: KRLON underscores the importance of not just reporting for documentation but also as a means of recognizing and appreciating the exceptional work undertaken by RLOs, CBOs, and groups. Celebrating their contributions and sharing success stories serves as a catalyst for inspiration.
  3. Knowledge Sharing: Knowledge sharing should be a continuous endeavor. Encouraging organizations to submit reports and disseminate their best practices benefits the entire community. It cultivates a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
