We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in our journey towards empowering refugee communities. KRLON (Refugee-Led Organization Network) has officially received office space in Sweswe Kitonzi from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). This momentous occasion underscores UNHCR’s commitment to supporting refugee-led organizations like ours and marks a significant step forward in our mission to empower and advocate for refugee communities.

The Journey:
The journey to receiving this office space has been a collaborative effort involving dedicated individuals and organizations committed to making a positive impact on the lives of refugees. We extend our heartfelt thanks to UNHCR, OPM (Office of the Prime Minister), and all our partner organizations for their unwavering support and dedication throughout this process.

Special Recognition:
We would like to extend our special recognition and gratitude to Settlement Commandant, Mr. David Mugenyi (OPM), Ms. Arata Otake, and Ms. Carol Aketch (UNHCR) for their exceptional leadership and tireless efforts in facilitating this collaboration. Additionally, we express our gratitude to KRLON’s Executive Committee for their dedication and hard work from the inception of this endeavor.

Office Inauguration:
Our new office space, located near the Reception Centre’s Main gate at Sweswe Kitonzi, is now operational. We are excited to invite everyone to visit our office starting from Monday, March 11, 2024. Your presence would mean a lot to us as we embark on this new chapter of our journey towards empowering refugee communities.

Vision for the Future:
As we settle into our new office space, our vision for the future of KRLON remains steadfast. We are committed to providing support, advocacy, and resources to refugee communities, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are upheld.
