ABOUT US:

Mutukama na wewe is a community based association that started 2019 as a saving group. “Mutukama na wewe” is a Swahili word that means “a person like me” implying (inclusiveness). Mutukama na wewe is a non-profit community based association for both refugees and Nationals based in Bwiriza-kyamagabo, nkanja Sub County, Kyaka II, Kyegegwa district. Our association consists of all vulnerable groups of people such as elderly, people with disabilities, women, the youths, refugees, among others. We aim at creating awareness among community members, making campaigns to fight against discrimination in criteria of gender, nationality, disability, race, among others within refugee and host communities.

ACTIVITIES:

All our activities rotates on:

  • o Savings and credits.
  • o Outside catering services.
  • o Poultry keeping.
  • o Handcraft makings.
  • o Bee keeping.

CHALLENGES :

  • Mutukama na wewe is struggling with various challenges however much proper planning has been done. Commonly encountered challenges have been outlined below; o Inadequate finances to suit people’s expectations towards association. o Limited managerial skills and empowerment. o Poor infrastructural development such as unmodified poultry house and bee hives. o Insufficient resources such as materials for hand craftsmanship. o Limited access to information that limits us from utilizing existing opportunities. However, to overcome the above mentioned challenges, we seek for support in terms of donation, empowerment and capacity building from both the Government a Non-government organization. Thus, we pray to be prioritized.

NEEDS:

  • o To widen our boundaries so that our services such as catering, credits, can smoothly reach far beyond our expectations. o To increase on our network so that we can generate more support from government and non-government organizations and well-wishers. o Mobilizing and sensitizing communities about our trending projects such as poultry, apiary, and craftsmanship, to mention but a few. This will in a long run increase our market and trade hence, development in reality. o Managerial skills training among our staff/executives. This target to impact our projects sustainability and future development progress.
